The building is one of many tales; it has been part of the local community for decades. A previous butchers and local store, turned pub and now high end accommodation and small events space. We bought the property in May 2022 and were closed until June 2023 for ground floor renovations, with the upstairs completed in April 2025 and now eight rooms up and running. We can’t wait to welcome you through the door.
The original part of the building is from the 13th century. We have restored this to its natural beauty, showcasing the stone wall and beamed ceilings. Guests staying with us will be able to use this space to relax, meet with friends, and enjoy our honesty bar. There’s a log burner and sofas for those chilly British evenings, board games and books, and a communal garden with seating and panoramic views. Guests can gain access to the communal bar/lounge through a double set of doors. We kindly ask guests to leave this space before 10 pm.
The accommodation is a modern extension, attached to the original building yet a separate space altogether with its own front door. Guests will have a key to this door during their stay.

A special room- called our honeymoon suite, but equally suitable for anyone wanting to spoil themselves and a loved one. Suite Abberley has a Juliette balcony looking out into rural Worcestershire and Shropshire with views you can't stop looking at. You can watch the sun go down from your bed, or with a drink in your hand on a cosy arm chair. Open the doors and listen to the birdsong.
This room has a walk in wardrobe, dressing table, a small kitchenette with a microwave oven and fridge/freezer and large bathroom with a shower over a bath.
A very large family suite with two separate rooms, both with an ensuite, and a kitchen/dining area with very far views throughout. Stanford has all you need for a relaxing family stay for up to 5 guests. The adults bedroom is spacious with a king size bed, and the children's room has a triple bunk and is designed for up to 3 under 16's. Please note the maximum weight for the top bunk is 70 kg.
The kitchen/dining has a fridge, microwave/oven, two ring induction hob and small table & chairs.

Have exclusive use of the whole of Hanley house; 8 separate bedrooms, with own bathrooms, and the cosy old bar with a log burner, lounge, games to play and honesty bar, and tables for group breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Dinner, lunch or breakfast can be cooked for you all in our professional kitchen. There are also small kitchens in two suites.
For sunnier times there's a communal garden with seating and panoramic views.

Homemade meals for £13.50pp. Currently on offer is lasagne, moussaka, fish pie or chicken pie. All served with local seasonal vegetables or salad.
Classic picnics are available for £11.25pp. A delightful homemade sandwich, local pork pie and crisps.
